RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Andy Gloor was presented with the 2018 Heart of Mercy Award on November 16, 2018 at the Heart of Mercy Ball held at the Hilton Chicago; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this honor by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Misericordia/Heart of Mercy is a residential community that provides support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing the highest quality training, and employment services while promoting independence, self-determination and interpersonal relationships; and
WHEREAS, Andy Gloor is a longtime supporter of Misericordia Heart of Mercy and is a widely respected member of the business community; and
WHEREAS, Andy Gloor serves as the Managing Principal of Sterling Bay, a commercial real estate investment and development firm he first joined in 2002 as a principal; and
WHEREAS, Under Gloor's direction, Sterling Bay successfully redeveloped and leased over 1.6 million square feet of creative loft office space in Chicago between 2012 and 2014, executing long-term leases with major corporations including Google, Gogo, and Hillshire Brands; and
WHEREAS, Prior to joining the company, Andy Gloor was a Managing Director at Insignia/ESG, where he was involved in over five million square feet of commercial real estate transactions; and
WHEREAS, Andy Gloor earned a his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and is a licensed Managing Broker in Illinois; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Andy Gloor serve as an example to all; now, therefore '
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twjelfth day of December, 2018, do hereby congratulate Andy Gloor on receiving the 2018 Heart of Mercy Award and do hereby express our best wishes for his continues success and achievement; and
