CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO BOB WAD DICK ON CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
WHEREAS, Bob Waddick, outstanding citizen of Chicago's northwest side, is celebrating seventy five years of proudly serving the Boys Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this great achievement by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Accompanied by his loving family, Bob was honored at a celebratory dinner at the Copernicus Center Annex on Sunday, August 29, 2018. Generations of scout families traveled far and wide to personally pay tribute to the Bob, a pivotal and positive role model in their lives; and
WHEREAS, Born in Chicago and living in the Sauganash area for most of his life. Bob joined Boy Scout Troop 50 when he was ten years old. He applied his energies and talents to upholding the great standards and traditions of scouting earning the rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, In 1974, while raising three sons and working as a civil engineer for Sargent and Lundy, Bob became Scoutmaster of Troop 834 which held their meetings and activities at the Sauganash Community Church; and
WHEREAS, Bob's proudest accomplishment was guiding his sons and grandsons through the scouting program, preparing them for success and enabling them to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. As a result, three generations of Waddicks have triumphed the highest rank in Scouting; and
WHEREAS, A well-respected mentor, Bob led youth by example and prepared young scouts to always live in observance of the boy scout motto Be Prepared; now, therefore.
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twentieth day of September 2018 do hereby offer our heartiest congratulations to Bob Waddick on his dedicated service to the Boys Scouts of America; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Bob Waddick.
