RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Donna DiMatteo Marzano has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of sixty-four; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Donna DiMatteo Marzano was the loving and devoted wife of James R. Marzano; and
WHEREAS, Donna DiMatteo Marzano was the much-adored mother of Jay and Anthony Owen, and the dear stepmother of James and Margaret Marzano, to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities which she possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Donna DiMatteo Marzano was the beloved grandmother of seven grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, Donna DiMatteo Marzano was the beloved daughter of Dominick and Ethel DiMatteo, founders of Dominick's Finer Foods; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Donna DiMatteo Marzano moved to North Palm Beach, Florida in 1979 to raise her family; and
WHEREAS, Donna DiMatteo Marzano was a member of the Board of Regents for Loyola University Chicago and served with numerous other civic and community organizations; and
WHEREAS, An avid and accomplished golfer, Donna DiMatteo Marzano was a member of both the United States Golf Association and the Chicago District Golf Association and held many club championships; and
WHEREAS, Donna DiMatteo Marzano inspired the lives of countless people through her great personal goodness, charity and concern; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Donna DiMatteo Marzano serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, A woman of dignity, grace and charm, Donna DiMatteo Marzano will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives and friends; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Donna DiMatteo Marzano imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of April, 2011, do hereby commemorate Donna DiMatteo Marzano for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, jQ^ a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Do:
