MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Dominic Michael Spencer, on March 6, 2016, in Hoffman Estates, at the age of four; and

 

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Dominic was the beloved son of Charles and Samantha (nee Slisz), dear brother of his twin sister Sofia and baby brother Anthony; cherished grandson of Grandma and Grandpa Spencer and Nana and Papa Slisz; and dear friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, especially his "best friend" "Xena". Dominic leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and

 

WHEREAS, Born on July 5, 2011 in Elk Grove Village, Dominic was a lifelong resident of Schaumburg. He was an honest and loving son who attended preschool St. Hubert School; he was a huge Disney fan, who loved building Lego cars and airplanes, going to the park, playing in the sand and showing off his cool t-shirts; and

 

WHEREAS, He lived every day to the fullest, with hugs, kindness and laughter. Throughout his brief life, Dominic touched the lives of many people through his kindness, his generosity, his heart, and his spirit. His bright eyes, smile and sense of humor will be missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to know him. His untimely death leaves us all with a profound send of loss and tragedy. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of him will live on in those who knew and loved him, and despite our sorrow, we continue to preserve and glorify Dominic's life, now, therefore,

 

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirteenth day of April, 2016, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Dominic Michael Spencer, and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

 

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dominic Michael Spencer as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
