RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, God in His Infinite Wisdom has called Theresa P. Sullivan to her eternal reward; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman ofthe 13th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Theresa P. Sullivan (nee Mclnerney) Age 93. Theresa was born in County Clare Ireland in 1927. She made the long journey to the U.S. in her early 20's to begin a new life. Shortly thereafter she met the love of her life, the late William P. Sullivan. They were married for 47 years and had six children. Theresa was a kind, and loving woman who cherished time spent with family. She was known for her amazing baking skills, a love of knitting, the challenge of a difficult puzzle, and a home where friends and family were assured to enjoy a good spot of tea. Beloved wife of the late William P. Sullivan. Loving mother of Ann (Stephen) Seymour, Maureen Sullivan, Michael(Nancy) Sullivan, Patricia Sullivan, Margaret Campbell, and Nora Moreland. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Michael) Coady, Donald (Angie Handley), Sean (Amber) Young, Teresa (Learn) Murphy, Michael Sullivan, Ryan Sullivan, William Moreland, Erin Moreland, and Brianna Devitt. Adored great grandmother of Jade, Damon, Sean, Cayden, Isabelle, Audree, Olivia, Jaylon, Joseph, Michael, Dayna, and Ellie. Youngest daughter of the late Michael and Susan (nee Kelly) Mclnerney. Dear sister of the late Agnes, Thomas, Ellen, Michael, Nora, Patrick, Mary and Edward. Fond aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews; and

WHEREAS, Theresa was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish and member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Senior Volunteer of the Year for Chicago Park District. Theresa P. Sullivan leaves a legacy of faith, dignity, compassion and love; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this ninth day of September, 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Theresa P. Sullivan and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Theresa P. Sullivan.
