CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO COMMANDER LUCILLE MOY-BARTOSIK ON RETIREMENT FROM THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, On July 15, 2015, Commander Lucille "Lucy" Moy-Bartosik, retired from the Chicago Police Department following more than twenty two years of dedicated public service; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Lucille "Lucy" Moy first reported for duty as a Chicago Police Officer on February 14, 1983 ; and
WHEREAS, Commander Lucy Moy began her career in the 20th District and steadily rose through the ranks to serve as Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Commander; and
WHEREAS, Lucille has garnered a complimentary history including eighty awards, including the 2009 Crime Reduction Award, the 2004 Crime Reduction Ribbon, fourteen complimentary letters, fifty-six honorable mentions, a department commendation, two attendance awards, two physical fitness awards, and awards for serving at the NATO Summit, the Democratic National Convention, and the Presidential Election; and
WHEREAS, despite these adulations and steady success in her field, Commander Moy stayed humbly proud of her accomplishments and was always willing to mentor and support other Chicago Police Officers during their careers; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her long and distinguished tenure, Commander Lucy Moy upheld the finest traditions of the law enforcement community and her hard work, commitment and dedication to duty earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the communities she protected; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City of Chicago are cognizant of the great debt owed our public servants, and extend our sincerest gratitude the long and prolific career of Commander Moy; now, therefore
fie It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-ninth day of July, 2015, do hereby express our gratitude for over thirty-two years of work in service to the people of the City of Chicago, and express our heartiest wishes on a pleasant retirement to Lucille Moy-Bartosik. We hope to continue to enjoy her presence in our community and in our lives; and
