RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Laurence P. Mulcrone has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 64; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Westchester, Laurence P. Mulcrone was a widely admired member of the law enforcement community and the loving husband of Karen, nee Krupa; and
WHEREAS, Laurence P. Mulcrone was the much-adored father of Joseph, Julie, Coleen and Kristen and the grandfather of eleven to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Laurence P. Mulcrone was the dear brother of the Reverend Joseph, Mary, the Reverend Thomas, Ellen, Michael, James and Jean; and
WHEREAS, Laurence P. Mulcrone was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Illinois State Police; and
WHEREAS, During his esteemed tenure, Laurence P. Mulcrone oversaw Illinois State Police operations in Northern Illinois and managed more than 1,000 staff members; and
WHEREAS, Laurence P. Mulcrone played an instrumental role in forming and leading the Metropolitan Enforcement Group; and
WHEREAS, Following his retirement from the Illinois State Police, Laurence P. Mulcrone joined the Illinois Pier and Exposition Authority where he rose to become Chief of Staff; and
WHEREAS, Laurence P. Mulcrone later joined with a partner to open REM Management Services; and
WHEREAS, Laurence P. Mulcrone inspired the lives of countless people through his great personal goodness, charity and concern; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Laurence P. Mulcrone serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Laurence P. Mulcrone to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Laurence P. Mulcrone was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Laurence P. Mulcrone imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this seventeenth day of June, 2015, do hereby commemorate Laurence P. Mulcrone for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
