CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO CHRISTOPHER DLUHY ON HIS RETIREMENT
FROM THE CHICAGO CITY CLERK'S OFFICE
WHEREAS, Christopher Dluhy, one of City Hall's most respected employees, is retiring from his administrative role in the Chicago City Clerk's office on January 31, 2019, after more than three decades of dedicated service to the city's government; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this special event by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Chris was first employed by the City of Chicago on March 4, 1986. He moved into his administrative capacity in the Clerk's office in August of 1991; and
WHEREAS, Having served during the tenure of six Chicago City Clerks, five Chicago Mayors, and changes in the City's government as influenced by six United States Presidents - Chris has often been relied on for an historical perspective on the workings of the Clerk's office; and
WHEREAS, Chris' integrity, work ethic, and consistently supportive nature, have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, as well as, members and staff of the City Council. Chicago Aldermen have long depended on Chris for his expertise, guidance, meticulous attention to detail, and total commitment to doing his job well; and
WHEREAS, Chris has developed innumerable warm and positive relationships throughout the departments and offices of City Hall. He is well-known for bringing his good nature, wonderful sense of humor, calm demeanor, and competence to all his interactions; and
WHEREAS, Chris' special reputation in the City was enhanced by his unique (and coveted) tie collection and his office decorations that delighted many City employees; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty third day of January, 2019, do hereby honor and express our deepest appreciation to Christopher Dluhy for his outstanding service to our City's government, and further extend to him our very best wishes for a wonderful retirement and continued happiness; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Christopher Dluhy.
