RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Gregory T. Riddle has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 65; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, A resident of Elk Grove Village, Gregory T. Riddle was a dedicated public servant and the loving husband for 40 years of Charlene, nee Kolder; and
 
WHEREAS, Gregory T. Riddle was the much-adored father of Scott and Bradley to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, A native of Harvey, Gregory T. Riddle graduated from Thornton Township High School and Northern Illinois University; and
 
WHEREAS, Gregory T. Riddle ably served for 30 years as a member of the Elk Grove Village Fire Department and retired as Deputy Chief in 2000; and
 
WHEREAS, Gregory T. Riddle was a leader of a statewide initiative for wireless 911 funding; and
 
WHEREAS, From 2000 to 2008, Gregory T. Riddle was the Executive Director of the West Suburban Consolidated Dispatch Center which provides 911 emergency response service to Oak Park, River Forest and Elmwood Park; and
 
WHEREAS, Gregory T. Riddle was a Past President of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International, a national organization which last year named its executive offices in Alexandria, Virginia, in his honor; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Gregory T. Riddle serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Gregory T. Riddle to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
 
WHEREAS, Gregory T. Riddle will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Gregory T. Riddle imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirtieth day of July, 2014, do hereby commemorate Gregory T. Riddle for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gregory T. Riddle. ^
