RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, Albert Ceren, Jr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 85; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, Albert Ceren, Jr., was a widely admired member of the law enforcement community and the loving husband of the late Billie; and

 

WHEREAS, Albert Ceren, Jr., was the much-adored father of Albert III, Beverly, Laura, Robin and Dawn, the grandfather of ten and the great-grandfather of seven to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

 

WHEREAS, Albert Ceren, Jr., was the dear brother of John "Tim" and Peter; and

 

WHEREAS, A native of Berwyn, Albert Ceren, Jr., graduated from Lyons Township High School and earned an associate's degree from the College of DuPage; and

 

WHEREAS, Albert Ceren, Jr., served his country as a member of the United States Army and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Lewis University and a master's degree in public administration from Roosevelt University; and

 

WHEREAS, A man of great kindness and integrity, Albert Ceren, Jr., began his career in 1954 with the Brookfield Police Department and joined the Oak Brook Police Department in 1962; and

 

WHEREAS, Albert Ceren, Jr., rose through the ranks to become Chief of Police in 1974; and

 

WHEREAS, Albert Ceren, Jr., led the Oak Brook Police Department through a period of growth and oversaw its move to a new station; and

 

WHEREAS, Following a long and illustrious career, Albert Ceren, Jr., retired from public service in 1986; and

 

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Albert Ceren, Jr., serve as an example to all; and

 

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Albert Ceren, Jr., to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

 

WHEREAS, Albert Ceren, Jr., will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

 

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Albert Ceren, Jr., imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of January, 2016, do hereby commemorate Albert Ceren, Jr., for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Albert Ceren, Jr.
