RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable James J. Nutschnig has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 72; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable James J. Nutschnig was a longtime Village of Mundelein Trustee and the husband for 48 years of Judy; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable James J. Nutschnig was the much-adored father of Jeff and Michelle and the grandfather of four to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable James J. Nutschnig was the dear brother of Robert; and
WHEREAS, Raised in Skokie, the Honorable James J. Nutschnig served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable James J. Nutschnig worked for Motorola early in his career before joining a Motorola distributorship in the mid-1990s; and
WHEREAS, The third-longest serving Trustee in Mundelein's history, the Honorable James J. Nutschnig was a member of the Village Board for 22 years and presided over a period of growth; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable James J. Nutschnig helped to bring a new Metra station to the Village and oversaw the completion of a new police station and two new fire stations; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable James J. Nutschnig serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable James J. Nutschnig to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable James J. Nutschnig was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable James J. Nutschnig imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirty-first day of October, 2018, do hereby commemorate the Honorable James J. Nutschnig for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Honorable James J. Nutschnig.
