RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Rody Biggert has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 82; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Hinsdale, Rody Biggert was the loving husband of former United States Representative Judy Biggert; and
WHEREAS, Rody Biggert was the much-adored father of four and the grandfather of nine to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, A United States Army veteran and a graduate of Amherst College, Rody Biggert first met his wife when they were attending Northwestern University School of Law; and
WHEREAS, Rody Biggert was extremely proud of his wife's record of public service; and
WHEREAS, Rody Biggert was a Precinct Captain and Chairman of his wife's yard sign efforts during her successful campaigns; and
WHEREAS, Rody Biggert worked for 38 years at the law firm of Seyfarth Shaw where he represented clients in labor and unemployment disputes; and
WHEREAS, Rody Biggert served on the Hinsdale Zoning Board of Appeals and the College of DuPage Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Rody Biggert was an active member of the Hinsdale Golf Club, University Club of Chicago and the Chicago Investors Society; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Rody Biggert serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Rody Biggert to his family members, friends and all who knew him, arid enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Rody Biggert was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Rody Biggert imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twelfth day of December, 2018, do hereby commemorate Rody Biggert for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rody Biggert.
