RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski was a widely admired elected official and the loving wife of the late Chester; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski was the much-adored mother of Joy and Kimberly and the grandmother of two to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that she possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski was the dear sister of Ronald and the late Marvin; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski was a retired Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Cook County; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski upheld the highest and most noble traditions of public service; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski was the first woman in the district's history to be elected by her fellow commissioners to serve as the Chairman of Finance; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski established a speakers' bureau to educate student and civic groups about the importance of the environment; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
 
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, the Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this sixth day of May, 2015, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Honorable Gloria Alitto Majewski.
