RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson was the third child of Hazel and Eddie Jackson; and
WHEREAS, Raised in a close and loving family, Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson graduated from Saint Thomas High School in Chicago and pursued a career in public service; and
WHEREAS, Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson was a longtime employee of the Chicago City Council Committee on Finance and worked at City Hall for more than two-and-a-half decades; and
WHEREAS, Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson began her career with the City of Chicago in 1981 as an Assistant Youth Service Worker with the Department of Human Services; and
WHEREAS, In 1987 Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson was hired by the Committee on Finance where she served as a Legislative Research Analyst and as a Legislative Aide; and
WHEREAS, Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson was known for her wonderful smile and during her leisure time enjoyed socializing with friends, going to movies and plays and attending book club gatherings; and
WHEREAS, A woman of great loyalty to her family, Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson devoted much of her time to caring for her mother, who was her best friend, and her late father, whom she admired greatly; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Valerie "Val" Naomi Jackson will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
