CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO COLE YUNGERMAN ON EARNING THE RANK OF
EAGLE SCOUT
WHEREAS, Life Scout Cole Yungerman of Queen of All Saints Basilica's Boy Scout Troop 626 has passed his Eagle Scout Board of Review earning him the rank of Eagle Scout, scouting's highest achievement; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this special occasion by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Cole's Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project, which took over 250 hours to complete, consisted of building an isolation room for sick dogs and remodeling the food distribution room for the Canine Rescue Center, at 5272 North Elston Avenue in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is achieved by only two percent of boys who enroll in the scouting program. In order to become an Eagle Scout, a Scout must earn twenty-one merit badges in addition to completing several community service projects; and
WHEREAS, Cole has completed all the requirements and has been examined by an Eagle Scout Board of Review, certifying his worthiness for Scouting's highest distinction; and
WHEREAS, Many Eagle Scouts have grown up to become great leaders in diverse endeavors such as Astronaut Neil Armstrong, former United States President Gerald R. Ford, former United States Senator William Bradley, former major league baseball player Albert Belle and Chief Executive Officer of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, Sr.; now therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-sixth day of November 2013, do hereby extend our heartiest congratulations to Cole Yungerman on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him every success in any and all of his future endeavors; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Cole Yungerman.
