RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 79; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Elmhurst, Leo Latz, Jr., was a widely admired member of the banking community and the loving husband for 57 years of Ann, nee Dolphin; and

WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr., was the much-adored father of Leo, III, Peter, Michael, Timothy and Ann and the grandfather of 19 to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, The son of a physician who served as Chief of Staff at the former Alexian Brothers Hospital in Chicago, Leo Latz, Jr., was raised on the Northwest Side; and

WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr., graduated from St. Gregory the Great High School and St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, A true gentleman who embodied the highest ideals of integrity and professionalism, Leo Latz, Jr., served for 15 years as a Vice President of Personnel at Exchange National Bank of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr., went on to found his own firm, Bankers' Personnel, which specialized in human resources and executive recruitment; and

WHEREAS, An ardent Catholic school supporter and fundraiser, Leo Latz, Jr., was a leading member for 50 years of the Chicago chapter of his college's alumni club; and

WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr., also raised funds on behalf of Fenwick High School in Oak Park where many of his children and grandchildren attended school; and

WHEREAS, Before moving to Elmhurst, Leo Latz, Jr., resided for nearly three decades in River Forest where he served as a member of the River Forest Service Club; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Leo Latz, Jr., serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, Leo Latz, Jr., was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
