RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Vince Casanova, a beloved Tribune media executive, has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 60; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, Vince Casanova was the loving and devoted husband of Nancy; and
 
WHEREAS, Vince Casanova was the beloved father of Tom and Mark to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, Vince Casanova was the cherished brother of Bruce; and
 
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood, Vince Casanova attended Gordon Technical High School and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University and a master's in business administration from the University of Chicago; and
 
WHEREAS, After working for Arthur Andersen, Vince Casanova joined the Chicago Tribune Company in 1979 as Manager of Auditing and retired as Chief Operating Officer in 2013; and
 
WHEREAS, During his thirty-three year career with the Chicago Tribune, Vince Casanova touched the lives of many with his generosity, warmth and commitment to excellence; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Vince Casanova serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Vince Casanova to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Vince Casanova imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eleventh day of September 2013, do hereby commemorate Vince Casanova for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vince Casanova.
