MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned ofthe death of Edward J. Spula on August 1, 2013, at the age of 60; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on November 5, 1952, Edward was the beloved husband of Christine, nee Szczepanski, devoted father of Amber Marie, Blair Elizabeth and Taylor Anne; dear brother of Frank Spula, beloved son of the late Frank and the late Jennie Spula; cherished son in law of Janina and the late Louis Szczepanski, treasured brother in law of Edward (Ellen) Szczepanski, loving uncle of Michael and Matthew Szczepanski; treasured cousin of many; dear friend of many. Edward leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, As a longtime member ofthe Polish Nation Alliance, Edward was an active and vital member of his community; and
WHEREAS, Edward will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eleventh day of September 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Edward J. Spula and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
