RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, The Honorable Moshe Jacobius retires after more than 30 years as a member ofthe Judiciary on January 31," 2022; and

WHEREAS, the Chicago City Council has been informed of his retirement by Alderman Edward M. J3urke; and

WHEREAS, Judge Jacobius received a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1967, and a Master of Arts in History in 1969 from the University of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Judge Jacobius worked as a Chicago Public School teacher from 1969 to 1974; and

WHEREAS, In 1975, Judge Jacobius received his Juris Doctor from the DePaul University College of Law; and

WHEREAS, Judge Jacobius served in supervisory roles at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, and in 1988 he became counsel to the Illinois Attorney General; and

WHEREAS, Judge Jacobius spent 16 years in the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, prosecuting cases and defending Illinois Agencies and Officials; and

WHEREAS, Judge Jacobius was first appointed a Circuit Judge in 1991 and assigned as a Trial Judge in the Domestic Relations Division; and

WHEREAS, In 2000, Judge Jacobius became Presiding Judge ofthe Domestic Relations Division; and

WHEREAS, Judge Jacobius was appointed Presiding Judge of the. Chancery Division in December 2010; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication ofthe Honorable Moshe Jacobius serve.as an example to all; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council assembled this twenty-third day of February, 2022, do hereby congratulate the Honorable Moshe Jacobius on more than 30 years of outstanding service as a trusted member of the Judiciary in Cook County; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable Moshe Jacobius.
