RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Frank J. Schaffer has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 91; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A longtime resident of the Beverly community, Frank J. Schaffer was a prominent member of the real estate industry and the loving husband for 66 years of Dorothy, nee Scully; and

WHEREAS, Frank J. Schaffer was the much-adored father of Kathleen, Frank, James, Robert, Thomas, Jean and Margaret Mary and the grandfather of seven to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Frank J. Schaffer was a pioneer in shopping center management and served as Vice President and Director of Arthur Rubloff and Company from 1953 to 1978; and

WHEREAS, Frank J. Schaffer later founded and served as President of F. Schaffer Enterprises, Inc., a fast food retailer and franchisee headquartered in Elmhurst; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his role as a business leader, Frank J. Schaffer was involved with Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park and served for twenty-five years as a member ofthe St. Xavier University Board of Trustees; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Frank J. Schaffer serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Frank J. Schaffer to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Frank J. Schaffer was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Frank J. Schaffer imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this tenth day of December, 2014, do here...
