RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Darryl Moore has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 55; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of the Ashburn community, Darryl Moore was a dedicated member of the Chicago Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Darryl Moore was a Captain stationed at Truck Company 40 in the Beverly neighborhood where he was widely admired for his communication and leadership skills; and
WHEREAS, Darryl Moore was a trusted mentor to new recruits with whom he shared his experience as a veteran member of the department; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career, Darryl Moore upheld the finest and most noble traditions of public service; and
WHEREAS, Darryl Moore tragically lost his life in an apparent drowning while off-duty at the Jackson Park Inner Harbor where he was attending a gathering to mark the end of the boating season; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Darryl Moore serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Darryl Moore to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Darryl Moore was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his three children, Darryl Moore imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twentieth day of September, 2018, do hereby commemorate Darryl Moore for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
