RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION FOR THE WILLIAM J. BOGAN CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOL VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM
WHEREAS, William J. Bogan Varsity Basketball Team, representing the William J. Bogan International Baccalaureate Chicago Public High School, has been recognized as 3A Regional, Sectional, Super Sectional, and State Runner-up Champions in the 2018-19 Illinois High School Basketball Season; and
WHEREAS, the Chicago City Council has been informed of this significant achievement by the Honorable Derrick Curtis, Alderman of the 18th Ward; and
WHEREAS, the William J. Bogan Varsity Basketball Team is congratulated for the tremendous determination, hard work, resilience, teamwork, and leadership that has led to this success; and
WHEREAS, Coach Arthur Goodwin has contributed greatly to fueling the team's achievement through his coaching talent and deep commitment to supporting the team members in continually striving to be the best that they can be together; and
WHEREAS, the Team's ongoing support from family, friends, the community, faculty, staff, and administration has been an invaluable asset to their confidence on the court; and
WHEREAS, a new chapter of the Bengal history has been written this basketball season as a result of this Team's efforts; and
WHEREAS, we extend our sincere best wishes for the continued happiness and fulfillment of each Team member, their Coach, and the whole school community in their future endeavors; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 27th day of March 2019, do hereby congratulate, recognize, and appreciate the outstanding work of the William J. Bogan Varsity Basketball Team; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy pf this resolution be presented to the William J. Bogan Varsity Basketball Team in acknowledgement of their dedication, athletic excellence, and hard work.
