CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO POLICE OFFICER PRISCILLA WILLIAMS ON RETIREMENT FROM THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEAREAS, On January 31, 201^ Police Officer Priscilla Williams will retire from the Chicago Police Department following twenty- nine years of dedicated public service; and
WHEAREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by the Honorable Derrick Curtis Alderman ofthe 18th Ward; and
WHEAREAS, Police Officer Priscilla Williams, Star# 17232, began her illustrious career with the Chicago Police Department on December 26,1989 as a valued member ofthe 6th District her presence will be sorely missed; and
WHEAREAS, Dedication to and fulfillment ofthe motto ofthe Chicago Police Department - "We Serve and Protect" - exacts a substantial physical and emotional toll not only on the officers who must daily cope with the stress and danger of being life's arbitrator for countless citizens, but also on their family members; and
WHEAREAS, Throughout a long and distinguished tenure, Officer Priscilla Williams upheld the finest traditions ofthe law enforcement community and her hard work, commitment communities she protected; and
WHEAREAS, Police Officer Priscilla Williams devoted twenty-nine years of her life in public service to the people of the City of Chicago and in doing so has personally ensured that the City of Chicago is the safe, healthy and vibrant community it is today; and
WHEAREAS, The leaders of this great City of Chicago are cognizant of the great debt owed our public servants, and extend our sincerest gratitude to the long and prolific career of Police Officer Priscilla Williams; now, therefore
Be it Further Resolved, That a suitable copy ofthis resolution be prepared and presented to Priscilla Williams.
