RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Reverend Monsignor Francis N. Maniola has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age one-hundred; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, the Reverend Monsignor Francis N. Maniola was ordained on April 23, 1938, and served with dedication as a priest of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago for seventy-five years; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Monsignor Francis N. Maniola taught for twenty-seven years as Quigley Preparatory Seminary; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Monsignor Francis N. Maniola was the much-beloved Pastor Emeritus of St. Symphorosa Parish where he served from 1968 to 1981; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Monsignor Francis N. Maniola's ministry also included other assignments at St. Agatha Parish, Christ the King; Presentation BVM and Queen of Angels parishes; and
WHEREAS, The holiness, sacrifice and dedication of the Reverend Monsignor Francis N. Maniola serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Monsignor Francis N. Maniola will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved sister, Rosemary Boyle, and seventy-two nieces and nephews, the Reverend Monsignor Francis N. Maniola imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eleventh day of December, 2013, do hereby commemorate the Reverend Monsignor Francis N. Maniola for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Reverend Monsignor. Francis N. Maniola.
