RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Pat Hill has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 66; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Pat Hill was a former Executive Director of the African American Police League who fought for police reform; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of a mechanic, Pat Hill was raised near Princeton Park where she excelled at track and was mentored by the legendary Willye White who competed in track and field in five Olympic games; and
WHEREAS, Pat Hill began her career working as a physical education instructor at city schools from 1974 to 1986; and
WHEREAS, In 1986 Pat Hill joined the Chicago Police Department where she served on the security detail for the late Mayor Harold Washington; and
WHEREAS, Following her retirement, Pat Hill lectured at Northeastern Illinois University's Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Pat Hill serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Pat Hill to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To her three children, Stacy, Trennie and Ronald Jr., and her grandchild, Pat Hill imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this sixth day of September, 2017, do hereby commemorate Pat Hill for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
