RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has called John A. "Jack" Doherty Sr. to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman of the 13th Ward; and
WHEREAS, John A. "Jack" Doherty Sr., age 78, Veteran of the Korean War, US Air Force; retired Chicago Firefighter with over 35 years of service. Beloved husband of Christine (nee Hennigan); Loving father of Deborah Flint, Michael, CFD Eng.#4 (Michele) and John, Lt. CPD 004 (Deborah); Proud grandfather of Brian, Daniel, Christopher, Nicholas, John III, Christopher and Julie; Fond brother of Shiela (late John) Carey, Vincent (late Joan), late Thomas (late June), late Martin CFD (late Mary), late Kevin CFD (Penny), late Bernard, CFD (Pauline), late Gerald and the late Anna Mae (late Ronald) Michaels; Brother-in-law of Helen (John) Morrisey, Kathleen (late Edward, CFD) Smith and James, retired CPD Hennigan; Dear uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. A member of St. Symphorosa Super Club, St. Symphorosa Ushers, American Legion Post #1112, VFW Post #2729, and a member of the Chicago Fire Department Local #2. John A. "Jack" Doherty Sr. leaves a legacy of faith, dignity, compassion and love; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this thirteenth day of February, 2013, hereby express our sorrow on the death of John A. "Jack" Doherty Sr. and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy be presented to the family of John A. "Jack" Doherty Sr.
