RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Pat Dixon has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of sixty-nine; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Geneva, Illinois, the Honorable Pat Dixon was the loving and devoted husband of Shari Clancy Bertaine; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Pat Dixon was the much-adored father of Sean, Liam, Clancy, Ben, and Max, to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities which he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, A former Kane County judge, the Honorable Pat Dixon was considered by his colleagues to be a diligent and talented jurist; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Pat Dixon became a judge in 1979, and served as the Chief Judge for the 16* Circuit from 1988 to 1990; and
WHEREAS, Widely respected throughout the legal community, the Honorable Pat Dixon was an excellent researcher who was more concerned with the accuracy of the law than with public opinion; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Pat Dixon serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Pat Dixon will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and colleagues; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Pat Dixon imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of April, 2011, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Pat Dixon for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Honorable Pat Dixon
