SALUTE TO CRESTWOOD POLICE OFFICER JOE PAVLIK
WHEREAS, On May 28, 2013, an unknown suspect armed with a knife entered a 7-11 Store on 63rd Street just west of State and demanded money. The employee ofthe store did not comply and the suspect fled; and
WHEREAS, A short time later, while Chicago Police Officer John McGovern was completing the case report for this incident, the suspect returned to the store. After being recognized by the employee, the suspect fled the store. Off-duty suburban Crestwood Police Officer Joe Pavlik, a customer of the store, assisted Officer McGovern in detaining the suspect; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman of the 13th Ward, has apprised this august body of Crestwood Officer Joe Pavlik*s courage and dedication in assisting the Chicago officer in apprehending the perpetrator; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled here this 26th Day of June, 2013 AD, do hereby salute Officer Joe Pavlik for his assistance to the city in detaining a dangerous suspect and his dedication to his profession.
