RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Andrew P. Wade has gone to his eternal reward at the age of twenty-two; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Antioch, Illinois, Andrew P. Wade was the beloved son of Douglas and Elizabeth; and
WHEREAS, Andrew P. Wade was the cherished brother of Alicia, Steven, and Jonathan, and;
WHEREAS, A Specialist in the United States Army, Andrew P. Wade lost his life on March 9, 2011, in Afghanistan while serving his country in the global war against terrorism; and
WHEREAS, Andrew P. Wade joined the military in the fall of 2008 and completed his training at Fort Benning, Georgia before being stationed at Fort Drum in New York; and
WHEREAS, Andrew P. Wade was deployed to Afghanistan in the spring of 2010 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom; and
WHEREAS, Andrew P. Wade was awarded many military honors, including the Army Service Ribbon and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; and
WHEREAS, The bravery, sacrifice and patriotism of Andrew P. Wade serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Andrew P. Wade will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his friends, relatives, and fellow service men and women; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Andrew P. Wade imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of April, 2011, do hereby commemorate Andrew P. Wade for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Andrew P. Wade.
