RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Monsignor John Kuzinskas has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of eighty-seven; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, Monsignor John Kuzinskas was a widely admired member of the religious community and a priest of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago for sixty-one years; and
 
WHEREAS, Monsignor John Kuzinskas was Pastor Emeritus of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish on Chicago's Southwest Side; and
 
WHEREAS, A native of Waukegan, Monsignor John Kuzinskas was ordained in 1952 and was first assigned to St. Thomas the Apostle Parish on the South Side; and
 
WHEREAS, From 1953 to 1966, Monsignor John Kuzinskas served as the Assistant Pastor of St. George where he ministered to a largely Lithuanian parish; and
 
WHEREAS, From 1966 to 1973, Monsignor John Kuzinskas was the Assistant Pastor of Nativity BVM and returned as Pastor in 1988; and
 
WHEREAS, Monsignor John Kuzinskas retired in 1997 and became Chaplain of Holy Family Villa in Palos Park; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Monsignor John Kuzinskas serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, Monsignor John Kuzinskas will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and former parishioners; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Monsignor John Kuzinskas imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-fourth day of July, 2013, do hereby commemorate Monsignor John Kuzinskas for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family c/'Monsignor John Kuzinskas.
