RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of seventy-eight; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough was a widely admired member of the judicial community and the loving husband for fifty-four years of Lucille D., nee Kohler; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough was the much-adored father of Martin, Christopher, Brian, Maria, Ian, Harry, Jim and Noelle and the much-adored grandfather of twenty-three to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough graduated from Loyola University and Loyola University Law School; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough worked as an attorney before serving with distinction for thirty-one years as a Cook County Judge; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough was a Cub Master for many years and coached Little League Baseball for more than a dozen years at Kennedy Park; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-sixth day of June, 2013, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
 
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the Honorable Martin Emmet McDonough.
