RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Kenneth T. McCurry has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of sixty-eight; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of the Edgewater neighborhood, Kenneth T. McCurry was a widely admired member of the legal community and the loving husband of Jeanne; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth T. McCurry was the much adored father of Patrick and Maureen and a grandchild to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth T. McCurry enjoyed a long and highly successful career with the Cook County State's Attorneys Office where he headed the Criminal Appeals Division and served as a Deputy in the unit; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure, Kenneth T. McCurry mentored scores of young attorneys and was a calming and influential force among his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Following a career during which he upheld the highest standards of public service and contributed greatly to the furtherance of our justice system, Kenneth T. McCurry retired in 2002; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Kenneth T. McCurry serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Kenneth T. McCurry to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth T. McCurry was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Kenneth T. McCurry imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of April, 2011, do hereby commemorate Kenneth T. McCurry for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
