RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The law firm of Deutsch, Levy 85 Engel, Chartered, has celebrated its 40th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1973 by Earl A. Deutsch, Paul M. Levy and Terry L. Engel, the firm has prospered on the basis of the expertise and hard work of its talented attorneys and support staff; and
WHEREAS, In 1982, Deutsch, Levy 86 Engel was joined by Frank R. Cohen, Jerry I. Rudman, and Marshall D. Krolick, who were members of the firm Panter, Nelson 8s Bernfield; and
WHEREAS, Deutsch, Levy 85 Engel has grown over the years and presently has more than thirty attorneys and an administrative staff of more than twenty; and
WHEREAS, The firm's clients include private businesses, various governmental agencies, financial institutions and many third-generation, closely-held companies; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of four decades, Deutsch, Levy 8s Engel has offered clients advice and services across multiple practice areas, including acquisitions, mergers, business litigation, estate planning, real estate, and environmental needs; and
WHEREAS, The law firm has also provided effective counsel regarding condemnation, trademark and copyright issues, real estate taxation, e-commerce, first amendment rights, defamation and media law; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this sixteenth day of October, 2013, do hereby commend Deutsch, Levy 85 Engel, Chartered, on its 40th Anniversary and extend best wishes for continued success in its future endeavors; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Deutsch, Levy 85 Engel, Chartered.
