RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Roger Joseph Kasper has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 84; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, Roger Joseph Kasper was a veteran of the United States Air Force who served his country in the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Roger Joseph Kasper was the much-adored father of Karyn, Roger and Christine and the grandfather of six to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Roger Joseph Kasper was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Margaret, nee Svacik; and

WHEREAS, Roger Joseph Kasper was the dear brother of Marvin, Marjorie, Ronald and the late Robert; and

WHEREAS, Roger Joseph Kasper formerly resided in the Back of the Yards community on Chicago's Southwest Side where he was a dedicated civic leader; and

WHEREAS, Roger Joseph Kasper was the President of the Town of Lake Baseball, President of the Rebels and 2017 Florida Resident of the Year; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Roger Joseph Kasper serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Roger Joseph Kasper to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Roger Joseph Kasper was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Roger Joseph Kasper imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-third day of May, 2018, do hereby commemorate Roger Joseph Kasper for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
