MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Arthur J. Schoendorff, on January 30, 2015, at the age of seventy-four; and
 
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Born on March 6, 2015, Arthur, formerly of Flint, Michigan, was the beloved husband of Mary Ann, nee Grieb; loving father of Daniel (Lelia), Thomas (Melanee), Diana (William Hawkins) and the late Steven; cherished grandfather of Mirabella, Beatrice, Amber, Josephine, William V and Mary; dear brother of Walter (Lorraine), Roy (Judy), Paul (Carol) and the late Edward (Joan) and Mary; fond uncle of many and treasured friend to all who had to pleasure of knowing him. Arthur leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
 
WHEREAS, Arthur was an active and vital member of his community who touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity, heart and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eighteenth day of March, 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Arthur J. Schoendorff and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
 
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Arthur J. Schoendorff.
