RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Robert W. Sanders has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of eighty-nine; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, Robert W. Sanders was a widely admired member of the broadcast community and the loving husband of Betty, nee Kwitzky; and

WHEREAS, Robert W. Sanders was the much-adored father of Lisa and Clarke and the grandfather of three to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Along with his wife, Robert W. Sanders hosted the "Bob and Betty Sanders Show" in Chicago that aired on WBBM-AM Radio from 1972 to 1983;and

WHEREAS, Robert W. Sanders and his wife later worked at radio stations that included WCFL in Chicago, WMCA in New York and WISN in Milwaukee; and

WHEREAS, The couple enjoyed a home in Williams Bay, Wisconsin for more than four decades and had resided there since the late 1980s; and

WHEREAS, Most recently Robert W. Sanders had written a column entitled "It Seems to Me" for the Lake Geneva Regional News; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Robert W. Sanders serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Robert W. Sanders to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Robert W. Sanders will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Robert W. Sanders imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of November, 2013, do

hereby commemorate Robert W. Sanders for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution ...
