RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Mark A. Braun has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 93; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Mark A. Braun was a widely admired member of the legal community who specialized in workers compensation law cases; and
WHEREAS, Mark A. Braun w^s the much-adored father of Beth, Jane and Eric to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Mark A. Braun was the dear brodier of Robert and Sister Jeanne Marie; and
WHEREAS, A native of Athens, Wisconsin, Mark A. Braun graduated from Marquette University and Loyola University School of Law; and
WHEREAS, Mark A. Braun briefed and argued more than 45 cases before the Illinois Supreme Court and the Appellate and Federal Courts and one before the United States Supreme Court; and
WHEREAS, Mark A. Braun was actively involved with Loyola University for more than 60 years from which he received the Medal of Excellence in 2014; and
WHEREAS, Mark A. Braun retired from practice in 2016 at the age of 91 after 68 years of dedication to the highest ideals of his profession; and
WHEREAS, The hard work and commitment'bf Mark A.T3raun serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fourteenth day.of November, 2018, do hereby commemorate Mark A. Braun for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
