MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Irene S. Stransky, nee Kenning, on August 17, 2013; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Born on March 8, 1926 Irene was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Stransky; loving mother of Joseph G. (Chloe) Stransky and Lee Ann (Helmut) Mlakar; dear sister of Vera Levendowski and the late Evelyn Eckhardt, Ronald, Earl and Raymond Kenning; and, treasured aunt of many nieces and nephews. Irene leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, Irene will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this eleventh day of September 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Irene S. Stransky and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Irene S. Stransky as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.,
