MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Clifford Robert Gara on September 18, 2015, at the age of thirty-three; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on October 31, 1981, Cliff was the dearest son of David and Ann Marie Gara; beloved husband of Chasidy, nee Polo; loving father of Te'a and Ziggy Gara, Charlotte Butcher and step-father of Christian Castillo-Polo; dear son in law of Steven and Renee Polo; fond brother-in-law of Stephanie (Rolando Bermeo) Polo; cherished nephew of Frank, John, Mary, Ellen and Tom Villella; fond cousin of Dylan and Travis; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Cliff leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Cliff, a Sergeant with the United States Army, was an active and vital member of his community, touching the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this fourteenth day of October, 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Clifford Robert Gara and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sergeant Clifford Robert Gara as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
