RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Sister Clare Wagner is celebrating the joyful occasion of her 60th Anniversary as a devout and faithful member of the Sinsinawa Dominican Congregation during 2015; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this Jubilee event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, The daughter of the Honorable Clarence P. Wagner and his wife, Nora, Sister Clare Wagner was raised in an influential Chicago political family; and
 
WHEREAS, Sister Clare Wagner's father was an iconic political figure who served as Alderman and Committeeman of the 14th Ward and as Chairman of the Chicago City Council Committee on Finance; and
 
WHEREAS, Sister Clare Wagner attended Visitation Grade and High Schools on the South Side before transferring to St. Clara Academy in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin; and
 
WHEREAS, Sister Clare Wagner entered the Dominican Congregation in 1953 and has served during her religious life in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois; and
 
WHEREAS, Sister Clare Wagner has been an educator, principal, Congregation leader, academic administrator and spiritual advisor; and
 
WHEREAS, Sister Clare Wagner has been a spiritual director and retreat leader in Madison, Wisconsin since 1994; and
 
WHEREAS, The holiness, sacrifice and dedication of Sister Clare Wagner serve as an example to all; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this seventeenth day of June, 2015, do hereby congratulate Sister Clare Wagner on the celebration of her 60th Anniversary as a member of the Dominican Order and do hereby express our best wishes for her continued good health and success; and
