RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Koller has gone to his eternal reward at the age of 53; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, A resident of Oak Park, Dr. Michael Koller was a widely admired educator and physician renowned for his compassion and professionalism; and
 
WHEREAS, The beloved son of the late John and Marcy, Dr. Michael Koller was the dear brother of Dr. Mark and the cherished uncle of Erin, Sean and Brendan; and
 
WHEREAS, Raised in Calumet City, Dr. Michael Koller graduated from Loyola Medical School - Stritch School of Medicine, where he was an Associate Professor and Chair of the Admissions Committee; and
 
WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Koller was a two-time Teacher of the Year who always reminded his students at Loyola of why they entered the medical profession in the first place; and
 
WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Koller specialized in internal medicine and treated hundreds of priests of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Archdiocese of Joliet; and
 
WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Koller chaired the Archdiocese of Chicago's Health program for the Priests Advisory Board; and
 
WHEREAS, A highly skilled pianist and pipe organist, Dr. Michael Koller was the longtime Music and Choir Director at St. Victor's Parish in Calumet City; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Dr. Michael Koller serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Dr. Michael Koller to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
 
WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Koller was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Dr. Michael Koller imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this nineteenth day of November, 2014, do hereby commemorate Dr. Michael Koller for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dr. Michael Koller.
