RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Danielle Riley has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, Danielle Riley was the loving wife for 45 years of the late William Joseph III; and
 
WHEREAS, Danielle Riley was the much-adored mother of William Joseph IV, Patrick and Katie and the grandmother of six to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that she possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, After raising their three children in Lake Forest, the Rileys moved to Chicago where Danielle began a career at City Hall; and
 
WHEREAS, During her highly distinguished tenure in public service, Danielle Riley worked in the Office of the Press Secretary, the Department of Special Events and the Protocol Office and as an Assistant to Mayor Richard M. Daley; and
 
WHEREAS, A woman of dignity, grace and charm, Danielle Riley was a longtime and valued member of the Woman's Athletic Club where she made many dear friends, managed the organization's philanthropic boutique and started its largest bridge group; and
 
WHEREAS, Danielle Riley was widely admired for her sparkling personality, love of life and witty sense of humor; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Danielle Riley serve as an example to,all; and
 
WHEREAS, Danielle Riley will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
 
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Danielle Riley imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eighteenth day of March, 2015, do hereby commemorate Danielle Riley for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Danielle Riley.
