RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, Margaret M. Machay has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, Margaret M. Machay, nee Jagielski, was a widely admired member of Chicago's Polish-American community and the loving wife of the late Charles; and

 

WHEREAS, Margaret M. Machay was the loving mother of Michael, Sandra, Mark, Susanne and Brian and the proud grandmother of ten; and

 

WHEREAS, Margaret M. Machay was the dearest friend of Dave Ulczycki; and

 

WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Brighton Park neighborhood, Margaret M. Machay grew up in St. Pancratius Parish and graduated from St. Barbara High School in Bridgeport; and

 

WHEREAS, Margaret M. Machay ably served for more than 50 years as the owner of Polonia Banquets in Brighton Park and was an active and valued member of many Polish and polka organizations; and

 

WHEREAS, Hard-working and loyal, Margaret M. Machay lived above her business where she raised her close and loving family of five children; and

 

WHEREAS, Margaret M. Machay often donated food to charitable organizations; and

 

WHEREAS, Margaret M. Machay was a woman of remarkable goodness and a faithful member of Queen of Martyrs Church; and

 

WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Margaret M. Machay to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

 

 

WHEREAS, Margaret M. Machay was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and

 

WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Margaret M. Machay imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-eighth day of October 2015, do hereby commemorate Margaret M. Machay for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Margaret M. Machay.
