RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Herbert A. Glieberman has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 85; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Herbert A. Glieberman was a widely admired member of the legal community and the loving husband for nearly 60 years of the late Evelyn; and
WHEREAS, Herbert A. Glieberman was the much-adored father of Gale, Joel, and the late Ronald and the grandfather of three to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Herbert A. Glieberman was the last surviving founder of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; and
WHEREAS, The son of eastern European parents who owned the Bryn Mawr Bakery, Herbert A. Glieberman was raised in Albany Park and Rogers Park; and
WHEREAS, Herbert A. Glieberman graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law and opened his own firm in 1956, a practice which he successfully ran for nearly six decades; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Herbert A. Glieberman serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Herbert A. Glieberman to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Herbert A. Glieberman was an author and the host of two WMAQ Radio shows, "Ask the Lawyer" and "Law and Controversy"; and
WHEREAS, Herbert A. Glieberman was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Herbert A. Glieberman imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this sixteenth day of March, 2016, do hereby commemorate Herbert A. Glieberman for his grace-filled life and do here...
