MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Mary A. Koegler nee Leemputte at the age of eighty-nine; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Mary was the adored wife of 68 years to Walter Koegler. Cherished mother of Thomas (Mary Ann), Timothy (Karen), Kathleen (William) Unverzagt, Kristine (Jeffery) Jozwik and Terrence; precious grandmother of Michael (Kelly) Koegler, Kristin (Geoff) Silverwood, Matthew (Erin) Koegler, Sarah (Carlos Jr.) Mendez, Lauren (Matthew Ihnen) Koegler, Carolyn (Salvator) Aloisio, Kathryn Koegler, Mark (Kaylee) Unverzagt, Luke (Rachel) Unverzagt, Julie Jozwik, John Jozwik and Eric Jozwik; proud great-grandmother of Patrick, Marty, Cece, Ruby and Timothy Koegler, Maya and Jack Silverwood, Matthew, Emily and Elena Mendez, Gwendolyn Aloisio and Christian, William and Brooke Unverzagt; fond sister of the late Margaret (Bud) Rojewski, Ann (Bernard) Wagner, Hattie (Nicholas) Reding, Peter (Mary) Leemputte and Theresa (Robert) Stuckey; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Mary leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, Mary, a mainstay in the North Mayfair Community, was a faithful member of St. Edward Church. She is remembered for walking hand in hand with Walter to Sunday mass, waving to friends and neighbors along the way. At the core of their marriage they believed life was their faith and devotedly prayed the rosary daily; and

WHEREAS, Mary's greatest pleasure was her family, blessed with five children, twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren, she made it her mission to spend time for each and every one of them. She relished family gatherings and never missed a party; and

WHEREAS, Mary was a talented and accomplished artist, creating beautiful oil paintings, charcoal sketches, needlepoint and stitcheries. Every family membe...
