RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, BMO Financial Group will commemorate 200 years of operation on April 13, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been made aware of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, BMO Financial Group is a highly diversified North American financial services provider employing 45,000 workers; and
WHEREAS, BMO Financial Group provides a broad range of retail banking, commercial banking, wealth management and investment banking products and services to more than 12 million customers; and
WHEREAS, BMO's U.S. retail headquarters is based in Chicago, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, For 200 years BMO has financed economic expansion and played an important role in the growth of two great nations, Canada and the United States, while helping many BMO customers achieve their goals and ambitions along the way; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its long and illustrious history, BMO has taken a long-term view of its customer relationships, economic cycles and strived to work as a responsible partner with the community; and
WHEREAS, A special bicentennial celebration will be held by the BMO Financial Group on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Shops at North Bridge, 520 North Michigan Avenue; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-ninth day of March, 2017, do hereby congratulate the BMO Financial Group on its 200th Anniversary and officially declare that April 13, 2017 shall be recognized as BMO Financial Group Day throughout the City of Chicago; and
