RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Robert "Rob" Croston has gone to eternal life at the age of 34; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, Robert "Rob" Croston was a widely admired Chicago Public Schools principal and the loving husband of Sheena; and

WHEREAS, Robert "Rob" Croston is also survived by his father, Robert, his sisters, Tiffany, Brandy and Celeste and his brother, Deon; and

WHEREAS, Robert "Rob" Croston was hailed as a visionary for championing the merger of his school, the Jenner Academy of the Arts in the Cabrini-Green neighborhood, with the largely affluent Ogden International School on the North Side; and

WHEREAS, Robert "Rob" Croston was a graduate of Marquette University and earned master's degrees from both the University of Chicago and Dominican University; and

WHEREAS, Robert "Rob" Croston lived in the West Pullman neighborhood where he and his wife were pastors of Crusaders Church; and

WHEREAS, The resourcefulness, energy and leadership of Robert "Rob" Croston serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Robert "Rob" Croston to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Robert "Rob" Croston was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Robert "Rob" Croston imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-eighth day of March, 2018, do hereby commemorate Robert "Rob" Croston for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
