Ladies and Gentlemen:
I transmit herewith, together with Aldermen Sadlowski Garza, King, Burnett, Harris, Smith, Villegas, Hadden, Silverstein, Vasquez, Tunney, Gardiner, Scott, Ramirez-Rosa, Moore, Ervin, La Spata, Waguespack, Reboyras, Rodriguez, Martin, Cappleman, Mitts, Sigcho-Lopez, Dowell, Quinn, O'Shea, Osterman, Lopez, Nugent, Napolitano and Hopkins, a resolution congratulating Chicago Police Department detectives on successfully investigating a Hate Crime in the 50lh Ward.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the City Council passed a resolution honoring International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is celebrated January 27, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Despite this, and signifying the importance of never forgetting the Holocaust, in the last weekend of January, multiple anti-Semitic incidents struck the Fiftieth Ward; and
WHEREAS, On Saturday, January 29, 2022, a synagogue and two Jewish-owned businesses, Kol Tuv Kosher Foods and Tel-Aviv Kosher Bakery, had their windows broken; and
WHEREAS, On Sunday, January 30, 2022, a man spray-painted a synagogue and a cargo container on the grounds of a Jewish high school with yellow swastikas in West Rogers Park, and shattered windows at another synagogue; and
WHEREAS, Later on that same Sunday, mere hours after the incidents were discovered, Chicago Police Department officers arrested the alleged offender; and
WHEREAS, On Monday, February 1, 2022, the alleged offender was charged with four counts of hate crimes as well as charges of criminal damage and defacement; now, therefore,
