Your Committee on Workforce Development, to which was referred an ordinance O2022-1694 - Intergovernmental agreement with Cook County regarding extension and/or modification of Chicago-Cook Workforce Partnership as grant subrecipient and fiscal agent for federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funds.
This recommendation was concurred by unanimous voice vote of the committee on June 9, 2022.

WHEREAS, the Illinois Constitution and the Illinois Governmental Cooperation Act empower and encourage units of local government to associate amongst themselves; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an ordinance adopted by the City Council ("City Council") of the City of Chicago (the "City") on June 6, 2012 and published at pages 28383-28484 of the Journal of the Proceedings of the City Council (the "Journal") of such date, the City entered into certain agreements related to the consolidation of workforce development efforts of the City and the County of Cook (the "County") under the Federal Workforce Investment Act (the "WIA"); and
WHEREAS, workforce development efforts previously funded under the WIA are now funded under the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and the regulations issued thereunder (as amended, supplemented, modified or replaced, collectively, the "WIOA"); and
