RESOLUTION EXTENDING CONGRATULATIONS TO ASHTON A. ANDA FOR ACHIEVING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT

WHEREAS, Ashton A. Anda, a member of the Boy Scouts of America Scout Troop 33, was awarded Scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this special occasion by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman of the 13th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Krzysztof earned the rank of Eagle Scout on November 18, 2022;

and

WHEREAS, For Ashton's Eagle Scout service project, he collaborated with the United States' National Library of Congress to interview and collect first person accounts of Veteran's military experiences. This will serve as an archive for the United States of America and will be an invaluable learning resource for future generations to come; and

WHERAS, Ashton's Scouting experience goes far deeper than one project, he learned leadership skills that will carry throughout his life and career; and

WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is achieved by only two percent of young men who enroll in the scouting program. To become an Eagle Scout, a Scout must earn twenty-one merit badges in addition to completing several community service projects; and

WHEREAS, Ashton A. Anda has completed all of the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout and has been examined by an Eagle Scout Board of Review, certifying his worthiness for Scouting's highest distinction and now joins the ranks of many successful and influential Eagle Scouts; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor, and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fifteenth day of March, 2023, do hereby extend our heartiest congratulations to Ashton A. Anda on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him every success in all of his future endeavors;
